Paris the 1890’s – Montmartre on a hill on the outskirts of Paris were the slums of Montmartre. Here the love-for-sale world of the prostitutes and demimondes crossed with the Bohemian ideal of love amid the underworld of the notorious and ‘The Moulin Rouge’ was born.
